I was talking to a group of guests tonight while working Fantasmic. They were really nice and fun to talk to and we had a good time while they were waiting for the 9 o’clock show. I love it when people are just NICE. Anyway, the first Fantasmic show ended up being canceled, which made me feel really bad. (Like it normally does.) I mean, people do spend a lot of time waiting for the show, and with good reason. It is an amazing spectacle, especially if it’s your first time.

Anywho, it comes time for the 10:30 show, and I see my new friends returned to watch it. They headed down the stairs to find spots in the seated area which was already quite full. I followed them down the stairs and asked one of them, “Do you guys already have seats down here?” He replied, “No.” I said, “Follow me!”

I took them to our reserved section and put them in for the show. They were all very happy, and very surprised. It’s little things like this that really make my job at Disneyland so special. Making complete strangers happy, just because I can. Cheesy as it may sound, it’s really special.

After the guests were seated for a few minuets, one of the members of the group approached me. He said, “Hey, I think you dropped this over there…” I looked down to see a dollar bill folded into the shape of a heart. Of course I refused to take it three times, per company policy, but the guest insisted by saying, “But, it’s a heart!” I told him, “You guys really didn’t have to do that, but thank you.”

It really made my night.
